Alva is built API-first. 377 live household electricity, gas and dual-fuel tariffs from 17 suppliers in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, refreshed daily and checked by independent extractors before publishing. Free, no API key, CORS enabled.

`compare_energy`	Rank tariffs by estimated annual cost for a household (usage, meter, region, payment, EV).
`get_tariff`	Full detail for one tariff: unit rates, standing charges, discounts, time bands, source URL.
`recent_price_changes`	New tariffs and price changes, with effective dates.
`explain_bill`	Break a tariff's annual cost into units, standing charge, levies, discount, VAT and cashback.
`list_suppliers`	Suppliers covered, with tariff counts.
`estimate_solar`	Solar PV for a home: generation, self-use, savings, SEAI grant, net cost and payback (optional battery).
`compare_solar_packages`	Installers' published solar packages for a county, ranked by estimated payback.

Good to know

Costs are estimates including VAT, levies and standard discounts, from suppliers' published rates.
Every tariff carries a verification level and source URL. Results include a switch_url; tell users to confirm on the supplier's site before switching.
